Boats Boat hire is available from Dalavich Marina so you can enjoy a days fishing or simply explore the many beautiful islands and castle ruins of Loch Awe. There is a slip way on site for launching of guests own boats.
Fishing Fishing is permitted, free of charge to cabin guests at cabin 5 and from communal shore areas and anywhere on the loch from a boat for all guests. Permits can be obtained locally for fishing the rest of Loch Awe and Loch Avich. Loch Awe is a renowned fishing destination, currently (& on 3 previous occasions) holding the record for the largest Brown Trout caught in the British Isles, as well as being home to giant Pike, other species of course fish and an increasing level of migrating Atlantic Salmon. Permits can also be obtained for fishing the rivers Orchy & Awe both of which run into the north end of the Loch.
Walking The area is a walker's paradise, with many marked trails over varying terrain, from the stunning ancient forests to the enchanting Avich falls. The area has an abundance of wildlife, including woodland birds, Pine Martin, Red Squirrel, Red Deer, Roe Deer, Capercaille, Golden Eagle & Osprey.
The village The village of Dalavich also offers a shop / Café / Post Office, playing fields and a bar / restaurant by the entrance to the park. The people of Dalavich are incredibly friendly and cabin guests are always made very welcome in and around the village.
